Range of Precision Compact Disk players
Nagra offers the most transparent CD players on the market today, they are available in three different models, CDC, CDP and CDT.
The CDT Transport, the CDP Player which includes the D/A conversion and the CDC including the D/A conversion as well as preamplifier features, allowing our customers to select the ideal device for his environment.

Whether in a concert hall or a studio, Nagra is the ultimate yardstick for professional sound recordists seeking to make a recording as close to the original as possible. With Nagra CD players, you are able to enjoy this sound, reproduced with perfect integrity, on your own system in the comfort of your listening room. Nagra CD players set new standards of precision, accuracy and robustness, by the application of a range of solutions aimed at preventing any deterioration in the signal, all the way from reading the data on the disc to final output from the unit.
Special in-depth analysis and adaptation has been implemented to solve problems of synchronisation drift (jitter), which typically affects even the best devices, and the results obtained are spectacular. An equally rigorous approach has been applied to the construction of circuits, the choice of components and production tolerances. Design consistency ensures exceptional quality. Great, authentic Nagra sound: a quality which is immediately visible or rather, audible. Never before have CD players reached such levels of clarity, sharpness and natural sound.
Aviation technology
The front-loading mechanism is designed with aviation technology giving an excellent stability to the transport and reliability second-to-none. The playback module is mounted securely in the CD drawer. It makes use of custom design silent-block to ensure a perfect protection from vibration, either generated by the CD itself or by the acoustic waves in the room. The performance offered by this precision driver ensures that the CD is read with perfect reliability. The digital signal path is entirely treated at the 44’100Hz frequency avoiding the possibility of introducing parasitic interference through up-sampling techniques.
The brushed aluminum case and the gold plated encapsulation for the digital-to-analog converters ensure that there is no interference of the audio signal from radiation, and thus guarantees signal purity.
The Nagra range of CD players use an external 12 V power supply, ACPS III, MPS or CLASSIC PSU. This prevents the unit from pollution from large transformers and high voltages. These factors blend to offer pure transparency, and an audio restitution identical to the original recording. The transport is fully remote controllable, and all transport functions are displayed on the back-lit LCD indicator mounted on the front of the CD drawer.
A version for every requirement
The CDC, “C” standing for Concept, is the most complete CD player in the range. This unit is equipped with a built-in digital to analogue converter, and analogue preamplifier stage and can be connected directly to a power amplifier. it also sports a built-in headphone amplifier.
Featuring a traditional Nagra modulometer the CDC allows the integrity of the restitution to be visually monitored all the time. The chassis of the CDC is identical in dimensions to the rest of the Nagra range and thanks to the front-loading mechanism allows the units to be stacked neatly together.
The CDP is a “traditional” player with transport and built-in D/A converter, with fixed-level output.
The CDT is a “transport only” version allowing the use of an external D/A convertor such as the HD DAC.
Note that all three CD players include digital outputs, AES/EBU, S/P Dif and TOSlink. So they can all be used as a transport, to upgrade to the HD DAC, CLASSIC DAC, TUBE DAC or HD DAC X.
