THE COMPACT LINE EXPANDS
Silent Power. Pure Performance.
At Nagra, we know that exceptional sound begins with exceptional power. For decades, our legendary recorders set the standard thanks to their silent, high-performance power supplies, delivering unmatched reliability and autonomy.
Carrying this heritage into the Hi-Fi world, we designed external power supplies for our HD and Reference lines that pushed the boundaries of sonic purity. The Compact PSU proudly continues this tradition—delivering reference-grade performance in a refined, space-efficient design.
Engineered Without Compromise
From its first sketches, the Compact PSU was conceived as a no-compromise solution. Every detail—technical and aesthetic—was considered to ensure optimal performance:
- True linear power supply with custom-made toroidal transformer
-
Multi-stage silent filtering for clean, stable energy delivery
-
Precision-machined aluminum chassis with resonance control
-
Dedicated transformer for Europe or US mains voltage
-
Generous 2 A output power
-
Optional upgrade with the Nagra Compact VFS for enhanced vibration isolation
This meticulous engineering allows your Nagra system to reveal its full musicality, delivering a more natural, immersive listening experience.

Nagra around the World
A very satisfied customer in Switzerland
We recently had the pleasure of delivering a truly remarkable setup to one of our customers in Switzerland—and the results are nothing short of breathtaking.
Full System Configuration:
• Streamer
• TUBE DAC
• Classic PREAMP
• Classic PSU
• Pair of Classic AMPs
• All mounted on Classic VFS
• Wilson Audio Sasha V loudspeakers
• Transparent Audio cabling
• Modulum racks
From the very first listen—even fresh out of the box—the system delivered such a compelling performance that it was genuinely hard to step away.
What truly sets this setup apart is not just the gear, but the acoustically unique room: soaring ceilings, nearly no parallel walls, and an architectural design that naturally enhances sound dispersion and imaging.
Listening Impressions:
The system excels in revealing subtle nuances and delivering impactful, precise percussion. The synergy between components creates an immersive, lifelike soundstage—effortless and emotionally engaging.
Digital Front-End:
The Streamer is connected to Qobuz Connect, Audirvana, and Roon via a Mac laptop. Its unique clocking system lifts the TUBE DAC to another level—delivering music that is natural, lifelike, and serene. The customer’s music library features many 2xHD high-resolution recordings, which the system renders with stunning clarity.
Amplification Notes:
Each Classic AMP powers one speaker in a dual mono configuration. While bridging is possible, it wasn’t necessary here—power was more than sufficient for the room and speaker pairing.
A key design benefit: each Classic AMP features a single power supply shared between both channels. In this setup, using just one channel means the full power supply is dedicated to either Left or Right—resulting in enhanced imaging, deeper bass, and improved channel separation. Bridging can offer more control and output, but as always, your dealer can help you assess the best configuration based on your room, speakers, and listening preferences.

Thank you to ecoustics for acclaiming Nagra Best of the Show
Thanks to ecoustics and our dealer in San Diego, Alma Music & Audio, we had again an amazing set up in California, this year.
«this year the Swiss duo returned with some noteworthy upgrades, now paired with a striking Luphonic turntable. The Boenicke W8 SE ($18,254/pair) features improved internals, while Nagra introduced a Compact Phonostage and Streamer to the mix.
Classical music showed off their strengths: quick transients, precise instrument separation, and a lifelike presentation that had me planted in my seat far longer than expected.»
Montreux in High Fidelity:
Nagra’s sonic signature on the Swiss Riviera
As every year, we partnered with the Montreux Jazz Festival and presented the Nagra Reference Anniversary Turntable. It was accompanied with the brand new Compact Phono, along with a Classic Preamp, CDP Player and powered by the Classic PSU power supply.
During 2 weeks of festivities, numerous visitors took a moment off to enjoy presentations and discussions, but mostly… music!!
When sound meets summit:
Nagra, dCS & Stenheim illuminate the Verbier Festival
Thanks to Stenheim and dCS, we had the chance to show our products at one of the best classical music Festival, the Verbier Festival.
The 32nd Verbier Festival (July 15 – August 3, 2025) closed after 19 inspiring days of music, innovation, and discovery. Among its many highlights was the launch of the Verbier Academy Listening Room, a 7.4.1 immersive space that brought a new dimension to the Festival’s renowned Audio Recording Programme. Conceived by Theresa Leonard, Mark Willsher, and Vincent Mons, this space was designed to help students, faculty, and the public understand the crucial role that recordings and playback technologies play in shaping musical perception.
At the heart of the Listening Room was a state-of-the-art system combining four dCS Lina Network DACs, a Vivaldi Master Clock, seven Stenheim Alumine Two loudspeakers, two Stenheim Alumine Subs with integrated amplification, and four Nagra Classic amplifiers. The Nagra units provided the driving force behind the system’s remarkable sonic precision, warmth, and authority. Through a series of student workshops and public sessions, participants explored the differences between stereo and spatial audio, delved into modern and historical recordings, and engaged in deep discussions about taste, artistry, and recording philosophy.
The sessions included powerful demonstrations of masterpieces such as Stravinsky’s The Firebird and Sibelius’s Finlandia, as well as rare archival violin recordings, all rendered with breathtaking clarity through the Nagra-powered system. Many described the experience as profoundly moving and intellectually stimulating.
Beyond the Academy, UNLTD’s late-night “Off the Record” sessions at the Experimental Chalet showcased the dCS/Stenheim pairing with non-classical music, including Joni Mitchell and 1920s–30s German dance hall repertoire, highlighting how high-end audio can reveal new depths across genres.
This year’s Festival demonstrated how Nagra’s legendary amplification remains central to delivering authentic, emotionally powerful listening experiences. By bridging technical excellence and musical artistry, Nagra played a key role in shaping one of Verbier’s most forward-thinking and memorable editions to date.
