NAGRA
Equipment designed for the Radio industry is often referred
to as Broadcast equipment. Naturally
many of our recorders fall into several different categories
depending principally on the associated accessories. In general
when we talk about RADIO we refer to in-the-field journalistic
reporting and the ARES-ML, Nagra LB and Nagra SD are
our current products in this range.
The
music industry can be split into two categories:
MASTERING for high quality location recordings
for CD production and PERSONAL for private individuals wishing to record themselves. The NAGRA-VI, eight track recorder is
our flagship recorder with exceptional characteristics, and serves both categories perfectly. The smaller NAGRA-LB is a more compace 2 channel alternative and can equally be used for all music applications Of course the Nagra SD and ARES-ML may also be used for music recording too.
The
cinema industry naturally also enclaves the Television industry
and in principal refers to Synchronization of sound to picture.
In the past the NAGRA 4.2, IV-S / STC were the leaders but
nowadays the multi-channel NAGRA-VI with
internal time code options and full iXML metadata compatibility is designed for this market. The NAGRA-LB is also popular for its compact size, long battery life and robust quality, but is not fitted with a time code system.

The security industry can be broken into two categories, the SURVEILLANCE
industry and the SPYING side. In
the first case the emphasis is on long duration recordings
and the NAGRA LB or VI are ideal for this. In the second case
we are referring to body-worn recorders.
